The Mourning Suns

All in a week’s work!

We had an awesome day recording  A Cloud with Dimitri Tikovoi and Rob Jones at The Roundhouse. It’s exactly a week today since we were there and we are still buzzing from it!

We’ve been working on the video footage we made on the day, and are so excited to announce we will be creating a documentary-type-video to be released with the track on February 14th, the date of the compilation album launch, and of course, the never to be forgotten Valentine’s Day!

Ant and I performed live on Jack Parker’s New/ Unsigned Music Show on Monday 12th November, which was great fun, but felt a little funny being “live-on-the-air” and all. If you happened to miss us, then you can listen back to the session by following this link:

We also got a little mention in Clash Music Magazine, you can check that out here:

In addition to our very active schedule, we are supporting the awesome Midnight Bonfires at their EP Launch Party at the Hare and Hounds, King’s Heath, this Saturday! RSVP to the event below:

Off to London we go! Recording with Dimitri Tikovoi

Bright and early tomorrow morning we will be setting off on a mini road trip to Camden, London. Where we will be recording one of out favourite tracks ‘A Cloud’ at the EMI studios at The Roundhouse.

If that wasn’t enough to be excited about, we were absolutely thrilled to find out that legendary producer Dimitri Tikovoi (who is responsible for the Meds album by Placebo) would be working with us!

All I can say, is that I don’t believe that any of us will be able to get to sleep tonight!

More updates tomorrow.

London baby!

30/30 project Launch evening done. Much more informed. Studios look great. Looking forward to recording at EMI studios at roundhouse! Now drinking wine. It’s not all bad.

You can also check out the other artists involved here.

Exciting recording news!

So last week we received a very exciting email from EMI studio’s at the Roundhouse, London, saying they want us to be a part of their 30/30 project for new artists. What this means is we will be recording a track at the Roundhouse in a couple of weeks which will then be released on a compilation album with 29 other artists and sold on iTunes.

Right now, me (Ant) and Rosie are on a train to London to attend the launch event where we will meet all the people involved. Here’s hoping they are serving wine!

More exciting news to follow.

Oxjam Lichfield 20th October 2012

Just a quick reflection on the week just gone. We had a great time playing at the George IV as part of the Oxjam Lichfield fundraiser. We feel very good about ourselves, and all the people involved should be very proud of themselves as we raised a massive £3000! It just shows what good music and a little hard work can achieve!

Also a very happy 24th birthday to Rosie (18th Oct)!!!

Just a few photos from the evening…

Our good friend and fantastic musician Tom Woodman…
